Found a really nice Colt CAR Hbar Elite with a tasco custom shop 40x scope on it on consignment for a crazy price of $1050 out the door today.

The lettering on the receiver is gold. Were these ever issued with gold, or did someone paint it themselves?

Ser number is bk 0038xx.

I have owned three and none of them had any fillings
