On my 21st birthday my parents gave me my dead grandfather's Colt .22 Frontier Scout and the coffee table book by K.D. Kirkland called "America's Premier Gunmakers COLT". The revolver was a jewel and the book, which I read many, many times, did the job of selling me on Colts (it was probably commissioned by Colt to do just that). I've really been disappointed in how Colt has been managed over the years and in their spotty quality control from decade to decade. But I still love them. And the ones I've purchased that were made recently are excellent quality---just like I expected of all Colts when I was 21 and reading that book. I'm glad I found this forum.
