On my 21st birthday my parents gave me my dead grandfather's Colt .22 Frontier Scout and the coffee table book by K.D. Kirkland called "America's Premier Gunmakers COLT". The revolver was a jewel and the book, which I read many, many times, did the job of selling me on Colts (it was probably commissioned by Colt to do just that). I've really been disappointed in how Colt has been managed over the years and in their spotty quality control from decade to decade. But I still love them. And the ones I've purchased that were made recently are excellent quality---just like I expected of all Colts when I was 21 and reading that book. I'm glad I found this forum.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of knowledgab;e people here.
I started out as a S&W fan but quickly got over it after I bought my first Colt. OK I still own a couple of that other brand but my first love is D frame colts. Been acquiring them for about 25 years now. I'm not one of the really knowledgable ones.
