Picked this up yesterday. I don't know if its hard to find or not but haven't seen many for sale.

I don't think so my 45 mag fits a like a glove

I too thought so at first but the angle of the case at the bottom kept telling me it was a magazine pouch.

After looking at this pouch for a long time I suddenly realized that it doesn't look like it would close on a Colt mag. Does it close and snap on a magazine DadDuck?

Yes, it does close and snap perfectly. I'm certain that's what it's for just have my seen one before.
