Does anyone know when Colt started putting the pony logo on the bottom of their mags? I have a Combat commander made in 1978 that has one and I thought they started using that type of mag in the 80s....

My '77 satin nickel Combat Commander and '79 Commander don't have the pony logo on their original mags; my '81 Series 70 G.M. *does* have the pony marking.
