Thanks for the reply. But I do not have a serial there. The gun does not appear to have been redone. I have taken it apart and still can not locate one.

Left side above triggerguard, that's where mine is. The serial number should start with 2 letters followed by 5 numbers, the first letter will probably be R such as RC, RS, RR Etc.
If it does not have a S/N the pistol is in violation of federal law so BE AWARE. I assume that it was a private transaction instead of through a dealer.
