Colt Model \"357\" question about \"Unblued\" barrel tip?

Colt Model "357" "Unblued" barrel tip:

1)Were all of the barrel tips, on all of the Colt Model "357's" ever produced, left "Unblued" or, were only some years left "Unblued"?

2)If so, approximately when, did Colt start fully bluing the Colt Model "357's" barrel tips(Instead of leaving them "Unblued"(Shiny!)?

I remember us discussing that question not to long ago and came up with no definite answer. I think Mr Stern had pictures of a polished 357 and the barrel crown was blued and a duo tone that had the crown left in the white. My duo tone also has the crown left in the white, plus several other folks here have them the same way.
Re: Colt Model \"357\" question about \"Unblued\" barrel tip?

It appears that all the duo-tone Colt revolvers of the mid-50's had bright muzzles.

My 1954 Colt Trooper .22 has the duo-tone/bright muzzle.

When Colt discontinued the duo-tone and went to the full polished blue finish, the bright muzzle was also discontinued.

Later 357 revolvers had the full polish finish and blued muzzles.

So, it appears that the bright muzzle was strictly a feature of the duo-tone finish, and was used on "all"? duo-tone guns and on "none"? of the later full polish guns.

Here are two 357s. The muzzle on the left (the shiny one) is #4833. The one on the right is #16084. The one on the left is duotone. The one on the right is not.

1)Thanks, for clarifying this for me!

2)Is it possible, to pinpoint pretty closely, the approximate year, that the duotone finish on the Colt 357's were dropped?
