Gentlemen, I was given a 1st year National Match, 17xx serial number. What type of box would it have come in and does anyone have one for sale? Thanks for the help

If it isn't the right box you shouldn't try to match it to one imho. I would just get a display box, or a custom box to house it. Just my $.02. I do not care for al the repo boxes, and non original box stuff going on. I would rather buy one without than the wrong one. No judgement, just my opinion as smelly as it is :). Good luck in your search

Missing a prefix and a few digits there I think...

There were no 'National Match' in early 1913.

Images...definitely..!

I agree with JohnnyP that the OP probably left off the "-NM" suffix when reporting the "17XX" number. If that is the case, the box should be the telescoping wood grain with the dark green interior and the yellow end label.
