Well this is a good start. I'm still tracking down bits & pieces of info on the Officer's ACP Commencement Issue. The hunt is some of the best part of collecting. Please share whatever you learn. Here is what I think I know about it. I have found conflicting info.
It is a limited production run. Officer slide on a commander frame. 3 guns in the series.
1) 1985 (or 1987?) stainless 500 made. General Officers model
2) 1988 blue, 365 made Commanding Officer Model
here is a thread I started on it.
http://www.coltforum.com/forums/col...king-info-colt-commanding-officers-model.html
3) 9mm, 1990, alloy frame, 500 made, Lt. Commander model. (or 800 made in 1985 depending on who you read)
Colt Lieutenant Commander
If someone can point me to accurate info, it would be appreciated.
Both beautiful!! Ivories on the ACP?OK I've waited long enough![]()
Shawn, usually the E designates the model as enhanced. The one in the photo in post #1, with similar but earlier serial number than yours dates, according to Colt's, to being made in 1996.Sorry for replying to an old post but I just picked up a Colt Officers 45ACP in Bright Stainless which is very similar to the one in the photo. My serial number is SF15XXXE which put it in the mid to late 80's from what I can tell. Does the E designate a custom shop gun or does it mean enhanced? Does anyone know the history of these pistols?
Thanks
Shawn
