Is it time for some Officer's Model photos? Please post yours. This one is Bright Stainless. I picked it up as a companion piece to my Bright Stainless Gold Cup National Match.

One more Officer's ACP for me. This one is the "Commencement Issue Limited Edition" serial number FA00001 from the Custom Shop.

It's in the book, "Colt An American Legend".

Well......I'm in too.

This one letters as 1 of 6 shipped to a NYC police supply store in 1932. My best guess is the NYPD pistol team.....

Here is what I think I know about it. I have found conflicting info.

It is a limited production run. Officer slide on a commander frame. 3 guns in the series.
1) 1985 (or 1987?) stainless 500 made. General Officers model
2) 1988 blue, 365 made Commanding Officer Model
here is a thread I started on it.
http://www.coltforum.com/forums/col...king-info-colt-commanding-officers-model.html
3) 9mm, 1990, alloy frame, 500 made, Lt. Commander model. (or 800 made in 1985 depending on who you read)
Colt Lieutenant Commander

If someone can point me to accurate info, it would be appreciated.

Well this is a good start. I'm still tracking down bits & pieces of info on the Officer's ACP Commencement Issue. The hunt is some of the best part of collecting. Please share whatever you learn.
OK I've waited long enough ;)

I'm in, too!

I hardly call myself a collector, unless one considers that I've been the proud owner of this little gem since 1991. Colt Mark IV Series 80 Lightweight Officer's .45 ACP. I still have the original box and owners manual, too. It is the only Colt we own, and we are not about to part with it. Everything is stock; I've not modified or customized it in any way. I taught my now-grown kids to shoot handguns with it and it is now my concealed carry weapon. Colt has verified that it was built in 1990 and my next step is to get it lettered.

My compliments to the true Colt collectors who've posted their treasures on this thread. Pride in ownership is evident, and since I've joined Colt Forum I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only Colt lover around!
