Sheriff Andy...

was rightly concerned with proper gunhandling and safety. He restricted Barney to one cartridge for 'Baby' - which he made Barney carry in his pocket, leaving the revolver unloaded.

Thanks Doug for this picture that brings back good memories of a clean and good TV Program. I had forgotten that Andy too would rarely carry the Official Police. My hero, Deputy Fife, fierce gangster-getter and crime buster, lawman! As most Andy Griffin fans are aware, the post war OP was Barney's duty revolver. However, there was one episode, an early one, in which Barney used the S&W Model 10 in blue steel and a four-inch tapered barrel. I believe it was just one episode as all the rest, in which Deputy Fife had to pull his revolver, it was the Official Police. Thanks again Doug!

"That's it, Opie....line up those sights .... now squeeeeeze!" "Me TV" on satellite TV shows Andy Griffith reruns morning and afternoon-- about 3 to 4 hours worth each day. Also Dragnet & Adam 12 once a day.
That's not Opie. Opie is in the door looking. Opie was jealous when Andy was showing his friend (I think Trey) about the gun.

I wish DISH would carry MeTV. It's what Nick & Nite and TV Land used to be before they went trash tv.

I still think that was one of the best TV shows ever to be on television. I LOVE ME TV and watch it more than any other channel and I have like 220 channels on my satellite package. I might just cut my sat package to nothing but the minimum since they constantly replace good TV with stupid reality shows of people being stupid and that have no morals.

Actually, the scene is 'Politically Correct' if one wishes to live in the United States of America.

It is not 'politically correct' if one wants to live in some permutation of Stalinistic totalitarian tyranny, with all the tiers of personages and their endless destructive criticisms and harping and fallacy, and sophistry, as go along with that..!

Andy was an avowed far left, liberal. Don't be fooled by the photo. That might have been one reason he usually ignored carrying weapons and portrayed Barney as a bumbling fool who always carried a revolver with one bullet in his pocket.
