Here is the address of a new website I recently started. It tells you most of what you need to know about and collection Colt's first metallic cartridge revolver (1871) and has a Discovery Center that will grow with time. Right now you can read about the 1864 fire and see the letters of Elizabeth Colt in which she describes the fire and its aftermath.

Interesting - more info that I could digest. I'd like a similar treatment of the .44 RF 1872 Open Top --

That is an honest gun. It's great. But heck, I started collecting just a few years ago and while I know a lot about Colt's history, the only gun I truly know is the Open Top .22.

Yes, a lot. But wait until I start loading the Blog from Tubac, Dick Jarvis's secret mission for Colt in the Southwest.
