I am having the hardest time getting this Colt Police Positive Special to work. The trigger sticks in both SA and Da. It resets if i barely pull on the hammer. Ive tried 3 main springs but no luck. With no spring it works fine. Can anyone give me hand?

Sounds like your problem won't be solved by my solution, but... Just bought a 1920 Army Special. Shot great, but lots of scuz on it. Cleaned it thoroughly (w/o disassembling it) with Ed's Red. Put it all back together. Replaced grips (had removed them). Gun would not reset the trigger. Assumed I had put the grips on wrong, and/or binding the return spring. Removed the grips and dry fired. Noticed the spring was "hanging" and not returning the hammer. BFO (blinding flash of the obvious)! Same w/ engine or old gun... don't remove all the grease/lube/etc. put a touch of RIG grease in the c cup of the hammer. Functioned smooth again! Mine had not been fired much. Figured it was well broken in and smooth. Not so...
