I am curious about a Colt SA that my family has. It is in poor shape with a crack in the barrel, little to no finish left, and the front site missing. But the serial numbers all match which I hear is very rare for a pistol like this that was issued to the US Army. It is a 7.5inch Calvary model #12341 with an Ainsworth proof mark, made some time in 1873-1874 based on what I can find. Anyone know where this pistol was issued or to what regiment? Any thoughts on value, though I know that is a shot in the dark? Any other info anyone may have would be appreciated.

Thank you,
