In my opinion, that certainly is not the deal of the century. I would think that $1200 to $1400 is more in line. Even at these prices they are not what I would consider smoking good deals but more in line with prevailing rates. Perhaps the fellow may consider an offer. If buying this gun from a dealer as opposed to private party transfer, a $1600 price quickly becomes a $1750 gun when factoring in tax & DROS.
If this is your dream gun in your dream caliber with your dream finish, and your dream grips, then price becomes less of an issue. Check the auction sites & gun shows to see what others are asking (and more importantly actually getting) for comparable guns.
