Was curious what you folks can tell me about this Colt Single Action Army, Artillery Model. The Colt letter states: that is was delivered to the US Gov with date of shipment as January 28, 1885. The remarks also state that this gun was retuned to the factory for refurbishing, which consisted of replacement of worn parts, exterior refinishing and reassembly. It is of further interest to note that the majority of revolvers refinished at this time has the barrels cut to 5 1/2". The revolver was again delivered the the US Gov at the Colt plant on January 31, 1896.
Any further info would be greatly appreciated. I am in the process of collecting the books written on Artillery models, but they haven't been delivered yet.
