Bought another Colt SAA. This one is in .44 Special. I bought it from a retired Police Officer in Connecticut. Have it on layaway for now. Thank goodness I have an understanding Wife.

At one time I had a Cavalry and an Artillery Model, both of which were rough. I also had 5 SAA's that were made in 1898. Got rid of every one of them and have regretted it ever since.

Are all of those yours? I'm really jealous now.
Here are a few of the Colt SAA revolvers in my collection.

#1. 1881 Frontier Six Shooter with etched panel and ivory grips. Shown with an original frontier Bowie Knife.
#2. 1883 U.S. Cavalry revolver (Kopec Silver-Seal Accreditation)
#3. Artillery revolver with three components possibly associated with the 7th Cavalry (Kopec Letter)
#4. 1909 Colt SAA in .45 LC
#5. 1957 2nd Generation Colt SAA in .45 LC

Wow, you have some nice guns there.
Here's a couple of pictures of my newest Colt SAA that I received yesterday. It's a 38-40 and I'm looking forward to shooting it and working up a good reload for it.

Beautiful Case Colors on it. I really like it.

Another great job by Bill Fuchs, Spring Creek Armory.
He installed a 5 1/2" .45 Colt barrel, polished and blued the parts, except for the frame, and hammer which he had color case hardened. He also cut the forcing cone to 11 degrees and did an action job on it.
The gun is a 2nd Generation made in 1957.

Took my 1st Gen. .45 Colt to the range today. Shot good, but I didn't. I also tried my set of Sambar Stag grips on it, and they fit aolmost perfectly, so I decided to keep them on the gun, at least for now.

What is a good load for reloading ?? View attachment 764812

Thanks!!
I like 7.5 grns. of Unique behind a 250 or 255 grn. SWC bullet. There are other powders that will shoot cleaner than Unique though.

Had a .32-20 worked on by Lever Action Bill and he did his magic. He also made a set of one piece stocks for it too.
