Here is my Great Grand Father, his 32/20 serial #152837, era 1893. His pistol, His Spurs, His Horse, He is wearing the pistol cross Draw Style. He had freight View attachment 720866 View attachment 720866 teams and hauled up and down the western states from Death Valley hauling Borate to hauling the generators for the Roosevelt Dam out of Mesa Arizona. He was well over 6 foot and took to tall horses. We have actual pictures of Teddy Roosevelt with our family when he came to the dedication of the Dam named after him.
Very nice, great to have picture to go along with gun and spurs.

First post, not my first Colt, but first SAA. One of the few "bucket list" guns I'd somehow never managed to acquire -- until yesterday. Finish isn't perfect, but the fit and action is excellent! Serial #SA08xxx, so if the 3rd gen SN post here is accurate, it's a 1978(?) Pretty vanilla stuff, here, but I'm super stoked about it! View attachment 724100
Nice I have the same except newer.

Love the engraving, most cattle brand engraved guns to me seem to have too many brand. I like the scroll work and other details on this one, very nice. Who did the engraving?

I have one almost exactly the same was a 38.40 1906 sent to hardware store in El Paso !
Great gun, story and nice to have the picture of your Mom's cousin with the gun.
Looked at a lot of these pictures before, a lot of nice guns, anyway snapped a picture with my phone, not to good. My three SAAs. Top is 1980 7.5" in 44 special I bought a month or so ago. The middle is a 1980 5.5" in 45 Colt that I bought while on a job in Ohio from a shop in Kentucky and had shipped back home to Texas. The bottom is a 2019 or early 2020 4.75" in 45 Colt NIB. All were unfired but not anymore. Love these guns.

Passed up a 4 3/4" SAA last year. Thought I would never see another one until one showed up last week. Did not hesitate and bought it. I now have all (3) 3rd. Gen barrel lengths. A little over 1000 serials numbers off from each other. 87XXX, 88XXX, 89XXX.

Very nice, I have all three barrel lengths in 3rd gen also, but no store keeper or sheriffs.
Just finished a case for my 3rd Generation .45

(I think I have way too much spare time on my hands)

Not too long ago I posted a question about a new Colt SAA I bought. In the replies, y'all said it wouldn't be long before I had to get another.

Damn you. ;)

Looks like a nice one.
The hammer looks casehardened. Is that now standard with 3rd Gen Colt SAAs?

Got my new 7 1/2" 44 Special today! There is just a little wear on the left end of the barrel & a tiny hint of wear on the cylinder. Came with the numbered box & all the original papers.

Now, I have to find some ammo!
