I just recently joined this forum and have already shown this gun on another thread but thought it would be appropriate for this photo thread.
This is only my third gun to ever own and my first vintage gun, so I have been playing around with this one as far as getting it to look to my likings.
I am picturing it with the wood grips that were on it when I got it and then with a pair of $25.00 imitation MOP grips that I thought looked cool.
and finally, a pair of grips that were thought to be originals to the gun but found out they are repros. Gun Firearm Trigger Revolver Air gun

I guess I got bored and thought I would make a set of wood grips for my Colt Peacemaker .22.
Carved the wooden grips from a piece of Cherry wood - 2 coats of General Finishes Black Cherry water base stain, then applied Renaissance Wax.
Must say, I'm pleased with the feel of the grips and the project results.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing with us.

Here is my pair of .357 Magnums. The gun on the top is a 3rd Gen built during the "dark years" and the bottom gun with Stags is an early 2nd Gen that letters to Canada.

Not all stag grips are created equal. You have some great looking ones there.

Picked up a second SAA Friday. 1992 that somebody lettered, kind of a bonus. Bought it as a shooter, everywhere on the gun is really nice until you get to the cylinder. Has a turn ring and another ring near the back of it that looks like somebody repeatedly scraped it trying to pit it back in the frame. Doesn't appear to have been shot much and mechanics are fine. I plan on shooting it a bunch, that's part of the reason I bought it so I wouldn't feel bad shooting a brands new one. Well maybe I wouldn't feel that bad, but would have spent more cash. Here are my last two acquisitions: Both are 44WCF. The older is 145229, polished (but not as bright as it appears) with replacement barrel and cylinder dating to ?.

I couldn't leave you with that bright photo of my black powder Colt (a couple posts above). Here's a better picture of it with my third most recent 44-40 from 1956. Chaz

After reading a few threads about buying commemorative revolvers for shooting, I decided that was a good idea. They can be found for far less than the same model in standard configuration and what's not to like about new 2nd generation SAA revolvers. I bought these two from the same individual. The 125th Anniversary model was in a Montana Centennial case but the Wild Bill was in it's correct case. I wasn't too worried about the mismatched case as the price for the two of them was in my budget. They are a little gaudy but I've gotten past that since purchasing them. I haven't had a 7.5" SAA since the early 90's and I wanted to get a pair so these fit the bill perfectly and for a lot less than a pair of new 3rd generations revolvers would have set me back. I need to get them restocked and slicked up a little and they should make a nice pair of shooters.
