Got my 2nd Gen B/CC 5 1/2" 357 today!! No box, but it looks to have been well taken care of. No buggered screws or big scratches. It did not come with the original grips, but alas, I can buy some Eagle grips second hand. It sports grips made from American Holly. They look pretty close to Ivory, so that works for me.

I bought it from a very nice couple from Montana and got a hand written receipt and a note to my friend, the LGS owner, explaining how to get in touch with me. Very refreshing and nice. Now I only need a 5 1/2" & 7 1/2" 45 and I'll be done. Maybe, not.

3rd gen 44-40 looks to be unfired. Some additional PICs on why I think it might be only factory tested or shot very little.

My 45 ACP/45LC from 2011. This came from a forum member,here. It didn’t come with ACP cylinder,grips,or hammer those were all added by me. The basic gun was a star even without those things. Pete

Just added the long barrel version 45 ACP. The removable/ fitted cylinder bushing allows using ACP in both guns.😂

Got my new 7 1/2" 44 Special today! There is just a little wear on the left end of the barrel & a tiny hint of wear on the cylinder. Came with the numbered box & all the original papers.

Now, I have to find some ammo!

Edit: I did check the grips and they are numbered to the revolver. However, they look kinda corroded on the inside.

I just purchased this Turnbull finished gun (with a DT serial number), in .45 Colt, from 1998...photos courtesy of Turnbull:

I would love to find a nice wood grip for it, preferably a one piece grip. So if you have any suggestions on where I might look for one, it would be appreciated. I'm ok installing it myself...and making one myself if I have to, as I have lots of detailed woodworking experience.

Thanks guys.....I'm just a peon who has always had an eye for the old Colts and Winchesters.....if you pay attention to estate sales and auctions sometimes you luck out and after 50 years I've lucked out a time or two......from 1917 and the way it left the factory.
