According to the book "The Colt Commemoratives 1961-1986", there were 500 produced with serial numbers 1SF to 500SF. They came with blonde wood cases with Kansas Series Trails stamped in the lid, a steer head and Santa Fe in the lower right corner.

 

In 1968 Colt issued two Kansas Trail series commemoratives based on the .22LR Colt Scout revolvers.
There was the Kansas Pawnee Trail and the Santa Fe Trail.

There were 501 made in each issue at a list sales price of $110 each.
Serial numbers were 1PT to 500PT for the Pawnee, and 1SF to 500SF for the Santa Fe.

As is the case for most of the Colt Scout type commemorative revolvers, current value is low.

 

Thanks for the information. The cosmetic condition of this one makes it a shooter, so it will likely stay just the way it is. I am guessing it rode in a leather belt holster of some old Kansas rancher for many years, when he or she wasn't carrying a Colt Woodsman.
