I recently came across a what appears to be a much-carried but mechanically sound 1868 - KANSAS SERIES - SANTA FE TRAIL - 1868 revolver. I have been researching online for some detailed information on this specific variation but haven't found much beyond general stuff. I think I read that Colt produced 500 of each of these centennial series revolvers. Any suggestions on where to look for more information? Thanks!

In 1968 Colt issued two Kansas Trail series commemoratives based on the .22LR Colt Scout revolvers.
There was the Kansas Pawnee Trail and the Santa Fe Trail.

There were 501 made in each issue at a list sales price of $110 each.
Serial numbers were 1PT to 500PT for the Pawnee, and 1SF to 500SF for the Santa Fe.

As is the case for most of the Colt Scout type commemorative revolvers, current value is low.

Thanks for the information. The cosmetic condition of this one makes it a shooter, so it will likely stay just the way it is. I am guessing it rode in a leather belt holster of some old Kansas rancher for many years, when he or she wasn't carrying a Colt Woodsman.
