These are fine guns and other then the super-premium Python, were Colt's top of the line DA revolver in those years.
The blue job make todays guns look like crap.
Only caution is to use snap caps to do dry firing. If the firing pin should break, replacement requires a trip back to Colt due to special tooling being needed to replace the pin assembly.
Other than that, these were designed for unlimited use with .357 ammo and are tanks.
Enjoy ,a great revolver. Good looking, tough and reliable, like me .I guess that's why I like mine. I have said it before ,but if Colt started making these again ,the competition would wilt.
The Trooper MK III is one of my favorites as well. The deep bluing and walnut stock combination is hard to beat. Very accurate and fun to shoot! Great choice ... congrats!
