Is it true that the Viper was made during one year only??? And if so, what year was it???

Colt had a number of guns that ran for only a year or two. The Viper is just one of them.

The only appeal of the Viper in today’s marketplace is the fact that it carries a snake name. It has become desirable because many guys seek to have a so called “Snake Collection” and the named Viper must be included in such a collection.

The Viper is nothing more than a Police Positive Special of the same vintage, except using a lightweight alloy frame.

The year was 1977.
