I've had these for a bunch of years and now forget where I got them from. Maybe in an auction box lot or something as I probably would have remembered if I bought them as individual items. I am guessing the brass tags were probably use to identify bins of parts or some other work order kind of thing. The pay stub would have been more interesting with a name on it. Besides 1911A1s, what was Colt's making in 1944?

In 1944 Colt was making Commando revolvers, 1911s, machine guns (.30 and .50 caliber), aircraft automatic cannon, R&D on various projects I'm sure and who knows what else they were producing for the war effort. Colt was overstretched and operating above capacity and were often having trouble meeting production schedules.

That's pretty neat stuff...I wish I could help on identifications but I can't.
