Did Colt ever offer anything other than service stocks or Python-style target stocks on the Officer's Model Target in .22? I saw one with what look to be thumbrest style stocks of some sort. Thanks!

No thumbrest style stocks ever came from the Colt factory on that gun. They were added later. Some of those early aftermarket target stocks are worth quite a lot, depends who made them ....Roper would be good!!!

An OMT will have only "service" stocks. The target stocks did not appear until the OMM was introduced in 1953. When the Python was introduced in 1955, it used the style of full-checkered stocks used on the OMM and "357," but with gold medallions.

Barrocky (good to see you here - this site needs all the help it can get!) is right about the value of early aftermarket target stocks. The fancy Ropers are worth a lot more than factory.

Judge,
That's correct,it could use some help and you're a good man for the job. This place needs a guy who REALLY knows his Colts. I think in time the membership will grow and it may get a little more interesting around here.
