Is there a way to determine if a Python came out of the Colt Custom Shop? The gun in question is an unfired 1983 year of manufacture. The box is available but is tattered. One end is missing. There is one end label and that one is loose. I could get the info from that label if it w ould help. The gun has Eliason sights. It has a really smooth action and a better trigger than the Python I presently own. The one I presently own isn't bad though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have not had the opportunity to compare the 2 guns side by side although I can do that. Is this info that Colt will give out on the phone?
Thanks,
Tom

Yes I would suspect this gun was massaged by the Custom Shop, I know they were offering Pythons with tuned actions and Elliason sights in the late '70s early '80s.

I doubt you could get confirmation of this from Colt over the phone, apparently they're only giving out year of manufacture. A letter might confirm this but you'll pay $75 and wait several months.
