Although my cut down Police Positive doesn't count as a D frame, I am still including it.

They are my favorite Colts of all.

Starting in the lower left.

1917 Police Positive .38 New Police marked NPD 1307 on the butt.

1964 Nickel Cobra .38 Special

1966 Detective Special

Lower right

1972 Detective Special

1977 Cobra w/hammer shroud

1995 Detective Special

Now I need suggestions for filling in the holes in my collection.

Very nice collection.
How about adding a 1930s D.S. in 38 Special?

I agree with RB67's suggestion of adding a post war 32 NP D frame, too. You may not want to carry one ( I don't carry mine) but 32s remained popular for the first 3 decades after the 38 Special was introduced and they weren't completely dropped from the Colt line until the early 70s. They are a part of revolver history, and they are a lot of fun to shoot with their negligible recoil.

Great looking collection BigRix but when you win the lottery you need to add some Diamondback's

Malysh, A very knowledgeable member once told me the pre war DS was a "C" frame... :)

True, I should have said a pre war DS is a C frame. Especially since I put all that info out there in that thread
