Recently I've bought two Ruger single actions. The first was a .22 Single 10, and the latest, a .44 Special Flattop Blackhawk. I haven't had a chance to compare the .44 to any of my Colts but it feels like a boat anchor. My Dad left me an Old Model Blackhawk .45 and a Single Six and they both seem much better balanced. I haven't had a chance to wring them out at the range yet so it will be interesting to see if my opinion changes. The .22 is a real challenge to align the chambers to eject the empties. I suspect it will be difficult to embrace this new-fangled no half-cock mechanism.
