I picked up a pretty immaculate Detective Special the other day at the shop...an older gentleman traded it in on a Glock 22, and I called dibs on it.

The serial number of the DS is F415xx. ANyone have a clue when this baby was made?

I did carry it today for the fun of it, and it makes a great little carry piece. Six shots, and small enough to fit into all my S&W J-frame holsters.

Oh, and how will this gun stand up to the occasional +P? I plan on shooting regular pressure loads through it for practice, and use +P loads for CCW.

Looks to be a very nice 1974 specimen.
Occasional usage of +P won't hurt it, and most I have shot have put 158 grainers right on the money.
