Gentlemen, could someone please tell me if there were certain years and/or models that Diamondbacks either had the larger target grips with checkering border in half circle under the medallions or the smaller target grips with checkering in a slanted straight line under the medallions.

See picture below with both type grips. Thank you.

I believe 1978 was the year of transition based on my NIB Diamondbacks from that year (from the top stock to bottom stock in your photo). I can not remember seeing the "smaller" style stocks prior to 1978.

These "target" stocks were seen on 4" and 6" Diamondbacks.

Gentlemen, thank you for your replies. It appears from your answers that 1978 Diamondbacks may have had both style grips and anything older than 1978 had the half circle checkered bordering. If I am wrong, please correct me.
