What could I expect to get at an on-line auction for a .38 Diamondback 2 1/2" in 98% conditon with Herrett Detective stocks and an Allessi IWB undercover holster?

I've owned this rig for 15+ years, but always hesitated to carry or shoot it much, since the condition was so high. Kind of a silly attitude....

I end up carrying a well-worn .32 acp Colt 1903 instead.

Is anyone else guilty of turning a "carry gun" into a closet queen?

I paid $575 recently for a LNIB 2 1/2 incher DB in .38sp. I have seen a few for as much as $700, but I think they are overpriced.
The Herretts and Allessi are nice, but I don't think it will add much to the value. Some people will see the Herretts as a deduction if you don't have the original stocks also.

I agree.
Majic is right on the money.
It's a collector quality gun.
Collectors are looking for all original stuff.
Since it's going to cost between $50-$75 for original D-back grips, A collector is going to look at that, as well as what other things may not be original to the gun.
Even though the gun's in beautiful shape, a collector looks at something that is not 100% original a little more closely.
Also, if it's that nice and a collector buys it, he's never gonna put it in a sling.
