Difference between Colt \"357\" and Early Trooper

Being fairly new to Colt firearms I have to ask this after seeing a Colt "357".

What is the difference between it and an Early Trooper (1963) like the one I just purchased? Looks like the same gun to me.

Joed: This is a question that has come up here before. I searched for the earlier post and brought it to the top for you. As usual, DFariswheel, Majic and Lonewolf have illuminated the subject well. HTH.

ordnanceguy, thanks that told me what I wanted to know. The 2 revolvers look to similar to me and I wondered where the difference was.

I can hardly wait to try my newly acquired Early model Trooper out and see how well it shoots. I'm totally sold on my Python and can hardly wait to see how well the Trooper does.

These are the only guns I own with 4" barrels and now I love that length even more than 6".
