Hi Coltfans,

The Colt Officers Match Model is shared under the E & I frames. The Python is an I-frame. So my questions:
- is the Python basically the same as an .357 magnum E-frame but with heavy barrel underlug?
- is the lockwork the same on the Officers Model Match and Python?
I'm asking this because I'm looking for a Colt Officers Model Match or for a Python. Don't know which.....

If the frame and lockwork are basically the same I would prefer the colt Officers Model Match. More old school look with the benefits of the same smooth triggeraction of the Python.

Thanks,
Armes de poing

e-frame fireing pin is hammer mounted, I frame f/p is frame mounted.the lockwork is identical or nearly so, the python recieves a little extra care in fit/finnish as it is a delux arm. i have seen some i-frame "357"`s rival the python for action smoothness. my opinion only
