Does this look funny to anyone but me? First there is this 4" Python Elite:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=38143599

Then this 6":

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=38964090

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=39094034

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=39273807

Would anyone in their right mind pay $2K for a Python Elite? Are there really 2 people who would pay that? Doesn't it seem strange that both buyers are brand new Gunbroker bidders with no feedback?

Pics are all identical. "Buyer Beware"

This is a somewhat common topic. You need to be real careful with internet purchases and auctions. There are those that are taking advantage with sky high prices and creating a bit of havoc in the market. Then there are the out-right scoundrels. I refer to both as "bottom feeders".

That is what is called shill bidding.A common practice on most all auction sites. Some sellers don't have to pay as much when they run a basic auction as opposed to a reserved auction. It's also a trick, where people that don't know the item will fall prey, thinking that's what is the going price or there is something special about it.Needless to say it is illegal and if you can prove it,it is a felony here in the USA and most parts of the civilized world. But don't expect the auction sites to hollar or squeel, they get paid from the commission,or final cost.
