how in the world does a gun make it that long in that condition?
i would think a wealthy family had it from the get go.

Thats one of my favorite types of finishes on a firearm. That is a classic example!! Thanks for sharing.

First congratulations, that's a beautiful rifle.
The .38-55 is a very good ctg too. You should have a lot of fun with that one.
To answer the question,,,,, you bet I love CCH especially as well done as that is.

Very nice......You can pick up a nice Marlin for a lot less than a Winchester and they really are a quality built firearm. I didn't have a digital camera back in the day but I owned the gold and engraved Marlin 1894 at the bottom of the auction catalog cover back in 1992 to 1993. I sold it in 1993 to a collector in Florida and apparently he passed away or sold his collection and it brought $5000 less at auction than I sold it for.....I wasn't aware of it coming to the market at the time and have wondered where it went.
