Yup, the gun was shortened too from 7.5". It actually was a 4.75" gun as it came from the factory. It endured a stint in Fastdraw
where it was dropped, resulting in a bent back strap, trigger guard and broken grip. It was re-barreled as a 7.5" with copper
trigger guard and back strap, which is how I came by it. So what is original is sort of out of place. that is the frame, cylinder
and grips. It has 3rd gen trigger guard and back strap.

Nice old Colt.

What's the serial #?

I ask because it has a 1st gen 1800's to early turn of the century hammer with bordered checkering and a fixed firing pin.
The barrel shortening explains the custom front sight.
And the 3rd gen grip straps explain the horrid fit at the base of the hammer, the toe of the grip frame, and the grips.

Do you still have the copper grip straps? Copper plated?

Thanks for the kind comments, all.

Ser# is 36XXXSA. Yes, it is an earlier hammer. Didn't want to adjust the fit. Might use it elsewhere,
but it sure helps make the action sing pretty. The GF Assy. was copper or copper alloy instead of what
is usually brass. Still have it.
