I was no the web last night just searching and I come across a article out linning the Colt Python from 1955-1960
the article described the early pythons as being the most accurate of all.
This set me wondering about mine.So I grabed my safe keys
and took off down stairs to see if my python was one that was in the article and behold it was.I don't take much notice of serial numbers on guns.
The article stated that the early Python did not have any
Letters before the numbers.Although my Python shoots great
it adds that little more value to the firearm.
Check yours out.

The first letter, "E", wasn't added to the serial number until 1969. Generally any serial number under 5 digits command a premium as they are from the 1950s unless the seller doesn't know what they have. I have 3 from the 1960s, but the only ones I have seen from the 1950s the owners wanted an arm and 2 legs. I do have to admit that I was only looking at like new specimens.

Mine is #226XX and I think it was made in '62. And the blue is so deep, it seems you could fall in it. I bought it years ago for $350.00 Close to 100%, but no box. It is worth a little more now.
