I just submitted a fraud claim with Gunbroker. Maybe if enough people do the same we can at least get him booted off gunbroker. Just go to "Help" at the top of the page, "contact support" and click on "fraud" in the drop down menu. It takes two minutes.

Thanks TWAITS. The following is my belief submitted to GunBroker. Go to GunBroker then click on HELP, CONTACT SUPPORT and FRAUD if you believe as I do. All the seller has to do is state that the boxes are REPRODUCTIONS. Hope no one gets taken.
"Although the pistol seems correct - the box is not. I have seen this seller claim that the boxes he sells are original - they are not! He even has the serial # of the gun penciled on the bottom of the box. I have been a Colt collector for 35 years, a member of the Colt Collector's Assoc., a frequent buyer on your site and can guarantee that this box is NOT correct nor original to this pistol. I do not think this is the seller's error, but intentional fraud. Notice there are NO RETURNS. Get him off your site."

As someone said on another thread on this, it probably will do no good as GB still wants the money they get from all of Vikrants listings. But what the heck, maybe if enough people complain they might do something. It cant hurt I guess.

Oh and look closely at that finish, I really think it has also been refinished. Looks to glossy for that era of Colt and the markings look a bit faint.
Once you know something like "fake box", you run away as you do not know what else is not real.
