Finally found my first diamondback, it is in.38 with 4 inch barrel and made in 1978, does not look to be fired, cleaned it, and only found dust in the barrel and chambers, no signs of powder residue. but what is weird about it is script on the barrel and the little horse are filled with a gold colored high lite, is this from the factory or what? if not factory how can I remove it? also the finish rivals that of my 1978 python, which is the best I have ever seen. thanks

Congrats on your new Diamondback.
That gold highlighing is not factory, but was a popular application a few years back.
Usually acetone or fingernail polish and a toothbrush will remove it, but don't get it on the stocks please.
Godd luck and good shooting with your new prize.
