Howdy fellas!
I am working on procuring my first Colt Python from a friend.
All that I know about it thusfar is that it has a nickel finish.
I just read a post by another member regarding changing the barrel on his Python.
I was not aware that this was even possible.
Quite frankly, I am a shotgun and lever action devotee and know squat about handguns.
Please educate me in this regard.
Thanks.

Understood.
Unless the gun in question is a gift in the first place, right?!

I never aquire guns based on resale value!
Every gun I own has been customized in some way or form.
They're like Harleys to me in that respect.
Admittedly, this will be the first valuable gun I have ever owned but the theory still stands IMHO.

I agree with you all!
Please do not infer any dissrespect whatsoever from my comments.
My point was just this: I have no use for a snubby-valuable or not.
If I am actually lucky enough to take possesion of this gun it will become one of my most prized possesions!
It will become customized to some degree and it will become unique unto it's owner. Me.
I will cherish it as long as I live. But I will not sell it.
I certainly recognize the public's perception of the market value of these guns but it is more or less unimportant to me.
Now, I'm alot of things; but stupid ain't one of them! I realize that what I intend to do to such a gun would be akin to putting high performace tires on a Caddy; but at least I wouldn't put 20" wheels on it...
