Thanks again to Primer88 for allowing me to be the caretaker of this fine Colt for a while. It means a lot to me that my friend Bob James went through this one and made it operationally perfect.

Beautiful gun, but that bolt is dropping too early? This is not the first time I see this on guns he tuned. Most I saw had the bolt dropping in front of the approach, creating a small dimple in the cylinder.

The work was done after the damage was done, to correct what you described.
The gun was not tuned per se only timed correctly, with all original parts smoothed and intact.

My 2nd gen 44 Spec. has the same "damage". I had it tuned by Alan Harton and now it is perfect except for that mark in the cylinder.

Awesome gun. I hope it is going to burn some powder.
