A three-digit first-year (1956) 6" blue Python with minor holster wear just sold on GB for more than $10,000. If memory serves, a 6" Python weighs approximately 43 ounces, or around 2.7 pounds. If my math is correct, that's more than $230 per ounce, or about $3,700 per pound. Talk about your precious metal!

A first year will definitely bring $10K in my opinion. Since this is a 1956 second year I think it should have sold to me for $5080.

A few birdies have told me a 2 digit is getting ready to come up but it has no original box, just the gun. Can't wait to see the madness. When the bidding war on revolvers reaches the insanity stage maybe we'll see a certain pr of Boas up for sale?

Hey Gus, I know you've been away for a bit but..um...gold prices are down about $438 for the year..... ;) Not that I play the gold market mind you, just as a point of reference. I've diversified :)
