Looking for info/value of a Flat Top Target Bisley in .41 Long Colt with Nickel Finish and Ivory Grips. Assume all original. Been in same (one) family since bought. SN# 161XXX. I know they only made 24 of them. Assuming all original and 90% condition...............how much is it worth???

Holy Smokes!? 10K and more for a off the top my head quick shot at a price. I for one would love to see a pic of that. That gun would need an Colt SAA expert to verify its originality of finish along with a factory letter to get top dollar. Did I mention some of us here would love to see it? If that gun lettered to the family name that still owns it, they should do everything possible to keep it in the family and pass it down. Some of us here can give you an idea if it appears factory corrrect by posting photos here.

If your Target Model Bisley letters as you’ve described, it will command a substantial price! It is doubtful that it will identify the individual the gun was sold to, but sometimes with special orders a person will be identified along with the ship to information. Once you get the Archive letter and it confirms the configuration, there are many good appraisers that can assist you. As several have mentioned, with good high resolution photos of the Bisley, especially markings, we can give you feedback on the general originality of the Colt and an estimate of its value.

We all look forward to pictures as well as the contents of the Colt Archive’s research!

Bisley

The .41 is one of only 24 made. Sale should be contingent on factory letter. Spend the 150.00 for a call in and you'll have the info within a week. If you get REAL lucky and talk to a real person she may look it up while you wait. (RARE!) All original, 90%+, 10K is a steal! I think uncs got it.Maybe wrong but he's a stand up guy!

Now we are talkin! Call Kathy or Beverly at Colt and have them research it asap. To letter in that exact configuration in that serial range would be exciting to say the least. A factory letter will state how it left Colt, meaning configuration, and the shipping date. Most definitely get some pictures up! In my records I only see seven Flattops in that prefix. I dont see a .41 until 171 prefix. My curiosity is peaked!

Heard from Beverly at Colt, the gun letters as expected. Factory Nickel and Ivory! 7.5" barrel. Condition is 95% +. Shipped to Browning Brothers, Ogden Utah on May 10, 1895! Was in the same family for 114 years!

Neat letter for sure!

Browning started out as a gun shop in Utah and would have ordered many firearms for customers out west. No doubt this letter ads intrest to your firearm. We have some gray haired members here that don't have too many shopping days here on earth before they go to the big gun show in the sky and it would be their dying wish to see a Bisely flattop in .41 Colt. Hint hint

All I can say is yikes!

Truthfully, I was a little skeptical that it would letter as described; that is a very rare Bisley!!! Congratulations, that is indeed a great find!!!
