Hi all. Was looking for a 6" bright stainless but cane across a nickel one in custom box and presentation grips for $1700 at LGS .....decisions, decisions!

That's kind of like...I was looking for a pristine red 1963 Corvette, but only found a pristine blue 1963 Corvette for $20K. I would've had my money out before a blink of an eye. There's no decision in my book, except which shelf of my safe when I'm not shooting it. ;) Jump on it, or tell us where it's at so we can. Post some pictures after you buy it.

Nickel pythons command a premium, so it's a good thing. Buy it and run it's a deal. Years ago I had a nickel python in 6" bbl with a patridge front sight and elliason rear and traded it away. Fast forward years later discovered it was a custom shop gun - no wonder it had such a slick action and pretty grips???!!!
The percentage of nickel guns produced versus blued is miniscule - I would suggest buying the nickel python and flipping it if you can't handle the purchase of both and buying your bright ss python and still have some money
left over.
Even better is to buy both - no decisions. Cash poor, Gun rich - the story of collecting.

Well.....it wasn't exactly what I said. It's not in a box. Supposedly I'm the second owner. It has custom shop grips (I think, I'm a newbie)....$1900 all in with tax. He said he had original grips and gave them to me to. And a colt zipper bag. I think I'll maybe flip it so I can get towards my bright stainless....or not!

Those look like Altamont stocks - Altamont Company.

Although I don't see them on the Python pages at the moment, these are the Python Target checkered grips with laser scroll carving and laser carved logo. Most likely they are the Super Walnut, but they could be the Super Rosewood. (The Super Rosewood is very dark and the Colt Logo doesn't show up as well on them as it does on the Super Walnut).

Altamont -- Very nice people to work with. (They also make schrimshawed bonded ivory grips like those in my avatar)

I sell lots of those pretty aftermarket grips to guys who want to protect their expensive originals. Beat up the $75 ones and keep the $300 snug as a bug!
