Hello to all! I've been dabbeling in assembling .45 auto's from mil spec parts that I find at gun shops and gun shows... It is a great way to become familier with the system, and I have always felt that the experience gained, was well worth the extra expense.. But, at this point, I would like to find parts that would be more correct for commercial type 1911 type pistols... So my question is, does anyone know of a good place to buy frame parts kits, that are blued, reasonably priced, good quality drop in type??! I know lots of mil spec sources... but no commercial sources... Some up grade options would be nice, but they don't have to be the full blown match type components.. Thanks in advance, best to all!'r...GT

Most everything sold by Brownell's is good stuff. If it isn't, they take good care of you.
Brownell's is most people's first stop for gunsmithing tools, standard parts,custom-made parts by Wilson, Clark, etc, and genuine Colt parts.

For kits, and FAIR quality parts try:
Dare Gun Room
115 Paradise Point Road
Grafton, Va 23692-2980
[email protected]

Dare has been around a LOOONG time.
They offer loose parts, kits, and occasionally genuine USGI parts from WWII.
