Stories are always good. But I don't see $11K there either unless the gun is totally original. Even then... 11K?
For a couple hundred it might be fun to see the letter. You never know what a gun will sell for till you make your own offer, comfortable when backed up by a sound education.
There's no doubt in my mind, that this pistol has it's original as shipped finish. Grips are also of the period, but photos are good enough for closer inspection. They are dandies for sure. This is a MUST LETTER gun.
