From the 1911 forum today:

'We are building Combat Elites right now so keep your eyes peeled. Just an fyi as I have stated this before in the past and it still holds true. We are growing! We are on pace this year to make almost triple the 1911's that we made only 4 years ago. The custom shop is building over 6 times the amount of guns we built 4 years ago. The funny thing is we hear the same complaints as 4 years ago that no one can find our products. We hear all of you! Every day know everone here at Colt is doing our best to put better guns out the door and more of them.Brent'

Thanks for the update. It's been a while since we heard from Brent. Of course, most of the time, the only reason we hear from him is when someone has a beef or complaint. I certainly have grown to appreciate him and how he represents Colt.

Brent is a good man . Colt is lucky to have someone like him .

The whole industry is growing but increasing demand for already hard to find products makes it seem like no increases have been made .

I agree that part of the reason it seems like Colt is not increasing production and getting more guns out is that the guns sell very fast -- in many cases about as soon as the dealer puts it out in the display case. Some are sold as soon as the dealer gets it in before it even gets to the case because of a waiting list. I know this is the case with one LGS. The guns Colt are turning out these days are worth waiting for. When you find one better buy it. It won't sit there long.

Absolutely correct Colt75. We're fortunate to have a LGS that does get new Colts in and he's seen me on more than a few occasions. Good guy to do business with and has managed to stay ahead of the empty shelf scenario.

Brent is a First Class individual who takes pride in his job and position with Colt. He handles himself in a professional manner even when confronted with an irate post/thread and follows through with the things he says he will. I have the utmost respect for him.
As previously stated ,Colt is making more mustangs. From 12/12 to the present time serial numbers have gone from just under 75,000 to over 100,000.
As far as I know Colt is keeping the 1911 quality high, and that is all I care about.

You will have to look long and far to find a nicer guy then Brent.
I dealt with Brent when I ordered my special combat officer. He was a pleasure to deal with. I also have a Delta Elite and a black rail gun on order. I have been waiting 10, 11, and 12 months respectively for them. The rail gun is a gift for my wife.
