In the 1930`s my mother and aunt bought out my grandparents`s country general store in a small village in central Wisconsin. They were about 20 and 17 at the time and both single. Kind of a family lore story and I wish I had better details but heard it when I was very young. Seems some gangsters would stop in occasionally as one had the hots for my aunt. Our store was about half way between chicago and the Little Bohemia Lodge where that shoot out took place in 1934 between Dillinger, Nelson, Van Meter, Hamilton etc and the FBI. Somehow they put it together after the shootout, but I dont know which one had the hots for aunt Isla, but that was the last time they seen them before the shootout.
