1957 Smith & Wesson pre-Model 29 " The 44 Magnum" . 4-screw , 4" blued, LNIB (Cokes) ; correct case. S&W letter. Has tools, but screwdriver is later generation.

FOR-

2.5" nickel Python or 4" BSTS Python, excellent condition, box.

Or more accurately, is this an even trade?
In my area, the Cokes alone would bring $ 500-$ 600 if perfect. With the box and letter, probably $ 2K for the lot; more if the right person saw it. Just speculating.
Saw a similar item ,lesser condition, w/ incorrect black case go for 3400 on GB in last year.'Course hard to say what that really means.

Havent seen anything similar there recently.

Agree w/ 5-600 Cokes alone. Would be wrong from a collector standpoint to sell them separately however.
I don't know what the relative values of the two guns are, but I'd trade the Python for the Pre-29 in a heartbeat. I far prefer the '50s-'60s N Frame Smiths to the Python.

I'd keep the Smith, personally
It is nice for age 56!
Here is my 1957 19 no dash. People say nothing matches a Colt, but this, imho, is the prettiest revolver I own....

I personally think the Pre-29 is worth more and being a 44 nut would prefer it over the Python! And trust me, I love my Pythons.
Interesting non parochial thoughts CF members- expected to hear 'Smith + cash ' needed for the shiny Pythons.
If the case is the dark blue/black leatherette case and in mint condition, it is worth $$$. The correct screwdriver will cost $100+.

Yep, the correct subtype of the 4" blue/black case. And when I find the correct 9-knurled screwdriver for $50-60, I'll snag it.
If I had more than one python I'd want the smith.
I'd value the snubbie higher than the smith, the 4 inch is closer.
Well looks like Mr Fugate has a '56 5-screw in box for 5K, so maybe 3500 trade value not too far off ,after all.
