Picked up a nice M1908 380 at the Lakeland Pistol and Rifle Gun Club Show; one of the best in Florida. She's been handled way more than fired as the grip strapss bluing is worn, but the grips and finish elsewhere is very presentable.
Update: We always want to know what someone paid so I’ll return the favor.. $1000 Personal sale.

This! There has to be more to the story, maybe involving train tracks and a train? Giant bolt cutters? A collapsing vehicle lift in an auto repair shop? A sheet metal brake gone wild?

Let's hear it!

I bet the pistol had some trigger problem and Colt would not take it back for repairs and the FFL considered it a liability and decided to destroy it..... sounds reminiscent of something huh??? ;)

Was not looking for one but bought this one this past weekend for $470. when I came across it. I put about 75 rounds thru it this morning and it ran great! An original 2-tone Colt magazine and the bore is very nice. This is the 4th Colt I now have that was made in 1913!

Oh, and the magazine pouch I also picked up, also with 2 WW2 mags for $45.

It is gratifying to know that there are still some model Ms that can be had at decent cost.
To be honest, I coughed up more than $470 for one in pretty rough shape about 3 or 4 years back. I knew I was gettin' beat, but other than the crummy exterior, the thing wasn't unacceptable, just thrashed. As it stands these days, any model M in shootable condition under $500 is a deal.

Absolutely agree with you.
I do have a few Model M's but resigned myself to not acquiring anymore as I've watched prices climb over $500 to $600 and even $700 for ones in fair condition. My inner voice told me to grab this one at that price!

Good Condition can be well over $1500, not to even mention
excellent model M's.

Hello Gentlemen. I just was gifted/inherited(before he passes) a 1903 Colt. VERY MINT IN THE BOX! With all the papers. Serial# tells me it was made in 1915. The gun is flawless. It may have been shot, but I cannot see and brass markings on the feed ramp or on mag follower.
Owning and holding a gun like this kind of gives me the chills. This was the beginning of reliable semi auto pistols and to have one that was made while John Moses Browning was still alive gives it extra coolness for me. I will add this to my Colt collection of my Agent LW, Detective Special, 1911 series 80, SP1 and now a 1903 pocket hammerless.
