Just a quick photo of Bella our new Shepherd watching "Gunsmoke" with me, like she does each night at 5pm. When she sees me come up from the basement with something to play with in my hand(gun or blade). She jumps right on the sofa in her spot and lies down. She will stay there until 7pm when the show is over. Then we take our walk. Love this dog. I hope everyone on the forum has a great 4th of July. Peace

Peace, brother.

God Bless America, and her future.

Love a good dog friend. Miss the chocolate lab my folks used to have. We used to " talk" to each other in dog speak regularly.

Be safe all.

I know what your dog is thinking. It's why is Dillon hanging out with this useless Chester (Meester Dilllllinn!) At least Fetus (Maaaaaa-ttheWOUUUU!) helped shoot bad guys!

Bella is only 7 months old. She tips the scales at 55 lbs. , and is strong as a bull! She is presently sitting next to me watching baseball. I had to move my Colt DB so she could lay her head in my lap. Yeah I know I am spoiling her.
There was one" in color" Gunsmoke that I've only seen once twenty something years ago. A young guy with black hair I think is a deserter because he hated violence. Yet he was a prodigy with a sixgun. He wore a 7 1/2" colt, blued with ivory grips, in a high ride black tooled holster. When he helped Dillon kill guys in the end he gave up the gun. did he give it to Matt? No. did he sell it in town? No. He tossed it on the ground and they walked off together. Do you realize the fantastic colt collection Matt Dillon or the Rifleman would have if they just picked up the guns of the eight guys they kill each week?!

Thought the same thing many times. I am a Gunsmoke fanatic and still watch episodes every day, even though I've seen them so many times. I bought James Arness' book a couple of years ago, before he died. Autographed and a fun read. He was pretty active on his website even shortly before he died while in his 90's.

Good looking Shepherd. Here is my partner, Dylan, first as a pup ( 8mo) and then all grown up (2yrs).

Not only is that a great looking pup but aptly named. My son's dog is named Bella (mix shepard but with what we're not sure). Intelligent and obedient and strong as all get out. She's his constant companion and had to be trained NOT to chase the clays that we released from the skeet thrower. THAT was not an easy task.
Aptly named, she's a beauty. Here's to Bella and all of man's best friends!

I worked with russ wiggins. We were guards together at lockheed. Russ was in several gunsmoke episodes. I thought he did a good job in one episode where he played a cavary trooper and was demistrating his marksmanship with a sharps. I retired in 2000. Russ was still there when I left. Guess he had to keep his dependable income day job. I liked russ. He was a green beret in nam. I worked with 3 or 4 that were part time actors.

Hi,

Beautiful dog, but I really like your icebox back there. What a great piece of furniture.

Lou, it was worth the wait to see a picture of Bella.
And Dylan, too, Wiz.

Two great looking Shepherds here :)

Gunny wants a date with Bella. Sorry Dylan, you know how it is.....

For those interested, Gunny's ACL tear induced limp is about 60-65% gone:D
Still no exercise at least until next Thurs when he sees Doc Clements.

Two things I could never understand about 'Gunsmoke'. First, why didn't Dillon arrest that bumkin Chester for vagrancy and 2nd, and no disrespect meant for Amanda Blake, why did the producers chose one of the homliest women for the role of Kitty? I mean every episode there is some good looking woman in it. Why couldn't they have cast a real knockout for the role. Mabey I need glasses but I always thought Kitty was a 2 bagger.
